The Board of Directors meet periodically to discuss key issues and set priorities for IMO work. It is responsible for the supervision of work done by the International Marketing Organization. The Board will coordinate the activities of the IMO committees and come up with budget estimates to be voted on by the General Assembly of IMO, as well as review past work to find areas to improve upon and examine future possibilities. Members of the Board include representatives from each country part of IMO, a representative from each the IMO committees, and the Secretary-General.
The General Assembly convenes annually to expand upon discussions held by the Board of Directors with a greater number of participants. Those invited to the General Assembly include all members of IMO committees and representatives from IMO affiliates across the world. The Board of Directors will announce their findings, budgets, and tentative plans and financial arrangements, on which the Assembly will vote. All future IMO plans must be approved by the Assembly, and all leadership positions will be appointed through elections by the Assembly.
